Dr. Penny Corkum, PhD, is a registered psychologist and a Killam Professor in the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience. She is an international expert in pediatric sleep with over 25 years of clinical, research, and training experience. Her research program is focused on both experimental sleep research (e.g., impact of sleep restriction on cognition) and clinical research (e.g., developing and testing interventions), and the synergy between these two. She has led, employing user-centered designs, the development and evaluation of a number of eHealth and eLearning interventions in pediatric sleep (as well as in school mental health), including being the lead researcher for the Better Nights, Better Days program. She is experienced in conducting large-scale effectiveness and implementation studies, as well as usability/feasibility studies, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods.
